Fluffy Waffles
This Classic Waffle Recipe makes perfectly crisp waffles with fluffy insides that are to die for! The best waffle recipe ever! These waffles topped with strawberries and chocolate Ganche is my favourite breakfast. They are very easy to prepare and indeed is a great breakfast to start a day!
Ingredients
(makes two large waffles)1 cup all purpose flour
1 tbsp Sugar
1/4 tsp salt
1 tsp baking powder
1/4 cup buttermilk
1 egg yolk (large egg)
1 egg white, stiffly beat
1/2 cup milk
2 tbsp melted butter
2 tbsp sunflower oil
1 tsp vanilla extract
Directions
- In a bowl, sift flour,salt and baking powder. Then add sugar.
- Make a well in the center of the bowl.
- Add the milk,buttermilk, egg yolk, butter, oil and vanilla to the center of the well.
- Gently fold the flour mixture into the wet mixture until flour is combined. Do not over stir.
- Fold in stiffened egg whites and stir very gently until egg whites are mixed in.
- Keep the batter aside until the waffle iron is heating up.
- When the waffle iron is ready, brush some melted butter to avoid sticking.
- Then add a cup of batter (depending on the size of your waffle iron) to the hot griddle. Spread batter.
- Cook waffles until golden. If the waffles are not golden in colour, cook for another few minutes until you get the colour.
- Once the waffle are taken out of the waffle iron, brush some butter (not too much).
- Top waffles with Chocolate Ganache, Bee honey, berries or topping of your choice.
- Serve hot! Enjoy!
