Spaghetti Bolognese

A bowl of steaming hot pasta served with slowly cooked and simmered meat sauce made of minced beef, tomatoes, onions, and herbs. 

Ingredients

400g spaghetti
500g mince beef or chicken
2 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp garlic paste
1 large onion (chopped)
1 small carrot (grated)
1/2 cup stock water (made of a soup cube)
2 fried sausages chopped
4 large tomaotes (boiled and blended)
2 tbsp tomato paste
2  tsp white sugar
2 tsp oyster sauce
1 tsp soya sauce
2 dried bay leaves
2 tp oregano
Salt and pepper to taste
Parmesan cheese (optional)
handful of chopped parsley (optional)


Directions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large pan over medium high heat. Add onion and then add the garlic paste and grated carrot and cook until softened.
  2. Turn the heat to high and add the minced beef/chicken. Cook, breaking it up finely.
  3. Next add the stock water. Bring to simmer and cook for 3 minutes, scraping the bottom of the pan.
  4. Bring the heat to medium and add boiled and blended tomatoes, tomato paste, sugar, bay leaves, oregano, sausages and soya sauce and bring it to a simmer. Cook for 20 minutes closed and then open the lid and let it simmer for 10 minutes. (Add water if the sauce gets too thick for your taste) Stir occasionally.
  5. Once the meat sauce is thicken, add salt and pepper to taste. Serve over cooked spaghetti. 
  6. Bring salted water in a large pan and bring it to boil. Add the spaghetti and cook per packet directions.Then Drain it. 
  7. Divide the pasta between bowls and pour the hot meat sauce over the pasta. Garnish with Parmesan and chopped parsley. Serve hot!
