Keema filling
This spicy Keema filling made of ground chicken or beef can be used in anything. I use this keema filling for Pies, Blintzes, Buns and Turkish pides. You can make these in batches and freeze to be used whenever needed. This saves a lot of time.
Ingredients
250g minced chicken/ beef
2 tbsp oil
1 onion (finely chopped)
1 green chilli (finely chopped)
1 tsp garlic paste
1 small tomato (finely chopped)
Salt to taste
Curry leaves (optional)
Coriander leaves to garnish (optional)

Spices required
1 tbsp chili powder/ paprika powder
1 tsp coriander powder
1 tsp cumin seeds powder
1 tsp pepper powder
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
2 cloves
A small piece of cinnamon

Directions
- Heat oil in a pan over medium to high heat. When it is hot add the cloves and cinnamon along with curry leaves and garlic paste. Saute for 10 seconds.
- Then add the chopped onions and green chilies. Saute well until onions get translucent.
- Mix all the spice powders, salt and chopped tomatoes with the minced meat.
- Now add the minced meat mixture to the the onions. Saute altogether. Cook the minced meat with the water it releases, stirring occasionally in medium heat. (Don't close)
- When the water in the minced meat has simmered, turn off heat and garnish with chopped coriander leaves. Your keema filling is ready. Enjoy!
