Chicken 65
Chicken 65 is one of the most popular Indian snack and starter recipe. Chicken 65 is a spicy, red, deep fried chicken chunks usually served as an appetizer, entree or quick appetizer accompanied by onion slices. It is made using boneless chicken pieces marinated with spices. This is a very spicy, flavourful appetizer.
Ingredients
For the chicken marination
500g boneless chicken (cut into 1 inch cubes)
1 tbsp red chili powder
1 tbsp cumin powder
1/2 cup whipped yoghurt
1 tbsp lemon juice
1 egg
1 tsp garam masala powder
4 tbsp corn flour
1 tsp salt
oil for shallow frying
For seasoning
1 tbsp oil
2 green chilies (slit into two)
3 garlic cloves (chopped)
1 tsp cumin seeds
1 tsp red chili powder mixed with 1 tbsp water
1 tsp red chili flakes
2 dried red whole chili
1 tbsp lemon juice
Curry leaves (optional)

Directions
- Wash the chicken and pat dry the chicken using a kitchen towel.
- In a bowl, add the chicken pieces, and the marination ingredients. Coat everything well and let it sit for at least an hour.
- Heat oil in a pan and shallow fry the chicken pieces.
- Once fried, drain and transfer to paper towels.
- Meanwhile in another pan, heat 1 tbsp oil and add the chopped garlic and cumin seeds. Saute for few seconds. Then add red chili flakes, green chilies and curry leaves. saute well and then add the chili water and lemon juice.
- Finally add the fried chicken pieces and mix well. Serve hot! Enjoy!
