Homemade Cheese Crackers
These tasty and savoury homemade cheese crackers are easy to make, crunchy and delicious. Homemade food is always safe. Kids and adults will both love this cheesy flavour. You just need only 5 ingredients for this recipe.
Ingredients
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1 cup all purpose flour
4 tbsp salted butter (softened)
1/4 tsp salt
3-4 tbsp of ice water
Directions
- In a bowl, mix shredded cheese and the softened butter together.
- Then add in the flour and salt and mix well until the mixture looks like crumbs.
- Add water 1 tablespoon at a time and mix well to form a soft dough.
- Cover the dough with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 190 degrees Celsius once the dough is taken out of refrigerator.
- Roll out the dough on to slightly floured surface into about 1/2 cm thickness.
- Cut the dough into 1 inch size squares. Using a toothpick, make holes in the centre.
- Place the squares on a tray lined with parchment paper. Sprinkle salt on top of the squares.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until its light golden in colour.
- Let it cool completely and store in an airtight container.
Notes
- I used cheddar cheese here. But you can use any cheese you like here.
- For variations, you can add roasted cumin seeds or Red chill flakes or powder for a spicy flavour.
