(servings : 24 mini buns)
Ingredients
24 mini sausages (1 inch sized)
300g all purpose flour
1 tsp instant dry yeast
2 tsp white sugar
4 tsp milk powder
1 tsp salt
3/4 cup warm water
2 tbsp butter (room temperature)
1 egg beaten for egg wash
2 tbsp melted butter for brushing soon after baking
Directions
- Mix all the dry ingredients first in a mixing bowl. Then add warm water gradually and mix well until all the flour is incorporated into the flour. Knead into a dough.
- Now add butter and knead well for about 10 minutes.
- Cover and leave it in a warm place to double in size.
- Once the dough has doubled in size, divide the dough into balls each weighing 20g.
- Tuck in the edges towards the center and roll the balls in to small dough balls. To be more precise you can weigh each dough ball.
- Cover and leave it for 10 minutes to rise.
- Now roll out each dough ball into a cylinder shape and cover each sausage as in the picture. Pinch and seal the edges.
- Cover and let it rise in the baking tray for 10 minutes. Meanwhile preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius.
- Egg wash the buns and bake for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown.
- Brush melted butter as soon it is baked and cover it with a clean kitchen towel. This will make the buns very soft.
